• Celebrate Mass in the Basilica dedicated
to him with thousands of other pilgrims
• His body is being exhumed and the
public will have the opportunity to venerate
him in person from mid-April through late
September, 2008
• Take this opportunity to also visit
Assisi and the roots of Padre Pio's Capuchin
friary

Passion Play begun by the village in gratitude
for having been spared from the Black Plague
• Only performed at the beginning
of each decade
• All performers of the Passion Play
are residents of Oberammergau and have lived
there at least 10 years)
• The Passion Play is performed in
a special theater that incorporates natural
scenery into the drama
• It lasts 6 hours and is a mixture
of music and drama
